About Kirby - A stout lad, standing tall and proud above the rest of the world, while keeping a small mind :p I am a fairly active guy. Throughout my academic career I have long been into the sciences, and chose to pursue my hobby of electronic gaming as a career. I settled for mastery of web design, and kept the gaming as a hobby. Much happier this way. Although I have a serious side, I am happy-go-lucky most of the time, and have a lighthearted attitude toward the world around me. I have always been an "out there" (read: geek) type person, but still very personable. At some point I realized a common thread to how I live is the concept of play - whether games, toys, people (in good ways), or the environment around me. I respectfully enjoy it all. Considered by others to be honorable and trustworthy.

About Kirb.net kirb.net is an outlet for me for my hobbies. This also allows me to hone by web development/programming skills. Kirb.net is built around a homegrown blogging system codenamed "LKBlog" (pronounced like "El Kay Blog"), which is not as feature rich as other blogging systems, but it is mine and I loves it! I can post all sorts of rants and wierd stuff like toy hauls (a personal favorite), while using the same system to serve notification of updates to the rest of the site. The tone of the web site is general humorous, and not to be taken too seriously. The purpose of kirb.net is simply for me to get out what I have in me, hopefully making some small contribution to the enjoyment of the web experience. Plus I like posting pictures of all the toys I buy :)

• NO FOUL LANGUAGE! This is my personal stance; not only for this site but for my entire life. I live by the standards set forth in the Bible, and my site should no different.
• Minimal Innuendo I am occasionally known for having a "mouth", but I usually get no worse than PG. I will try to be good :)
• Spelling and Grammar I strive to have correct spelling and grammar. However, I am not going to catch every word, but note that I am trying (spelling was never my strong suit). However, I will use bad spelling and grammar to convey different "character voices".
• NO ADVERTISING! I paid the fine folks at iPowerWeb.com money for this site, and I did so because I wanted to.
• I will not ask for donations I work for a living, and am well taken care of. Rest assured that I am not going to go panhandling (it just bugs me when sites do that)
• kirb.net is "not for profit" see above. I note this because I have no intention of making any financial gain from this web site, so to any companies who may feel that I am infringing on their copyrights - I am an ally, no an enemy. (please don't sue me) :)
• Compliance I really try to be w3c compliant on my style sheets and HTML. Eventually I will go for real accessibility, but I think the site renders well in Opera's text only mode...
